Andrew comes from Ayrshire and attended the University of the West of Scotland in Paisley for four years, graduating in 2012 with a BSc in Forensic Science. He then moved to the West Midlands to study at the University of Warwick, earning an MSc in Analytical Science in September of 2013. In October he then returned to Scotland to study for a PhD in the Ashbrook Group at the University of St Andrews, with research titled “Solid State NMR of Inorganic Catalysts” – a project carried out in collaboration with SASOL Technology UK Ltd.
Outside of chemistry, Andrew has a number of different interests including: drinking tea, reading crime novels, walking and playing guitar.
