Diego was born in Italy in 1978. In 2004, he obtained his degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at "La Sapienza" University of Rome with a thesis on the kinetics and thermodynamics of the keto-enolic tautomers of 2-nitro-cyclohexanone in aprotic solvents, under the supervision of Prof F. Gasparrini and with Dr M. Pierini as co-supervisor.

He then worked for 21 months in the NMR laboratory of the analytical chemistry department of an Italian pharmaceutical industry. In this period he became interested in NMR of small size organic compounds in solution. He is now extending his interest in NMR into studies in the solid state for his PhD.

In his spare time he likes playing music, drawing and playing soccer.
